A 1948 BARANGER Studio motion display that decorated jewelry store windows in the USA, complete with original shipping box. BARENGER Studio motion displays are displayed in museums associated with renowned toy collector Teruhisa Kitahara (Yokohama Marine Tower 3F Mechanical Toy Museum, Shimizu Toy Museum, Hakone Toy Museum) and frequently appear in Japanese television commercials. These displays were manufactured over approximately 30 years from 1925-1959 and decorated jewelry stores, luxury watch shops, and similar retail windows throughout the USA. BARENGER did not sell motion displays directly. Customers under contract with BARENGER Service (jewelry stores, watch shops, optical shops, etc.) received a motion display in a red specialized shipping box each month. After one month, it was returned to BARENGER Studio for maintenance and partial updates to colors and parts before being sent to another jewelry store. This auction features Model #145-14, manufactured in 1948. When plugged into standard household power (100V outlet) and switched on at the back, approximately 10 moving parts activate including dolls, rooster, door, etc. (fully functional). Despite being over 70 years old, the display is in good condition with no missing parts.
