Description

Thank you for your continued support of "Kobijutu Keio." We offer carefully selected masterpieces, unparalleled in quality and condition, primarily focusing on sword fittings. --- **Museum-Grade Nagamaki Armor from the Muromachi Period by a Renowned Armor Smith** This work, crafted with supreme skill and artistry, is akin to that used by generals of the era. It is a standout piece of armor from the Muromachi period, featuring a helmet (kabuto) with sixty-two intricate star-like embellishments and exquisitely made body armor (dōgusoku) adorned with dark lacquer and rich navy silk lacing. Notably, exquisite silver fittings have been used throughout the armor, demonstrating the highest craftsmanship. The helmet represents the pinnacle of Muromachi-era smithing. It is made of carefully layered iron, constructed in a way that showcases both strength and artistry. The helmet features an intricately designed crest (kawagata) adorned with the 'Ishidate' family crests and includes beautiful wood-carved dragon motifs. The body armor is made from high-quality iron with gold lacquering on the inside and is certainly a daimyō-grade piece. However, please note that the lace connecting the front and rear of the dō is broken, causing some separation; this can be easily restored. Included are beautifully crafted matching sleeves, gauntlets, a faceguard, a skirt (kusazuri), a shield (odachi), and shin guards (suneate). It comes with a suitable armor chest (yoroi-bitsu). Although the armor shows signs of age, including some fabric wear, light stains, thread fraying, surface degradation, and minor wooden deterioration, it remains in excellent condition overall. One small part of the wood-carved dragon's tail has a break. The front crest attachment is slightly unstable, but can be securely fastened from the inside to ensure stability. Please review the condition and accompanying images carefully. However, the accompanying armor chest does show appropriate wear. We are also listing various exquisite sword fittings, so please take a look at those as well. *Shipping will occur in two packages for the armor and the armor chest.*
