1 / 1

Description

This is a 1997-made reissue model of the 1962 Gibson J45, a rare model made when Yamano Gakki was an agent for Gibson. It was custom-ordered by Yamano Gakki directly from Gibson, enhancing its uniqueness. You can find a similar model from the same era featured on the Otori Guitar YouTube channel. This is a reissue model that reflects Yamano Gakki's commitment to quality. The model features a stamped serial number, large pickguard, a thicker neck, and a screw-mounted bridge, all closely replicating the specifications from that era. After 30 years of drying, the body has developed an enticing weather checking finish. It possesses significant resonance for a semi-vintage instrument, providing a presence that stands out. This particular Gibson highlights a strong emphasis on bass, resonating deeply. Overall, it has a great tone with fluid sound projection, indicative of a well-played instrument. The guitar shop has replaced and adjusted the saddle and nut with oil-soaked cow bone. This adjustment alone cost around 20,000 yen, making this purchase a worthwhile deal. - String height: approximately 2.2mm (may fluctuate due to humidity) - Neck: almost straight - Truss rod: ample adjustment range - Remaining frets: approximately 70% or more Included: original hard case (shows minor scratches) but does not include a key. There are no cracks or repairs, but there are some fine dents and significant weather checking from age—please review the photos. As this is a used item, please understand that returns are not accepted. Serious buyers only, please. Collector Commentary

This 1997 reissue of the 1962 Gibson J45, produced through Yamano Gakki, exemplifies a rare collaboration that appeals to collectors seeking vintage authenticity. Known for their high-quality craftsmanship, Yamano Gakki's association with Gibson during this period elevates the model's desirability, particularly for those appreciating the distinctive tonal qualities and aged weather checking indicative of its semi-vintage nature. As an excellent example of early reissue cycles, this model reflects the strong demand from collectors who value both its musical significance and its condition—showing only minor wear relative to its age. With the Japanese market often favoring well-preserved instruments, this J45 stands out as a notable option for serious enthusiasts.
