Soft Vinyl Figure: Vintage Monster-kun, Frankenstein, Count Dracula, Wolfman - 1968 Edition

Description

This item has been stored in a cardboard box in my home warehouse for about 55 years. As I was organizing, I found it and decided to list it for sale. I would appreciate it if someone who can cherish and enjoy these items could take them home. Typically, this Frankenstein figure has a gray face, but this one is blue. It's unclear whether this is a miscoloration, a sample, or a prize from a magazine, but there is a TT mark on the underside of its feet along with engravings of Fujiko Fujio and the year 1968, indicating that these may be early items from that period. It would be an honor to have someone adopt these four figures that still reflect the essence of Fujiko Fujio. The blue-faced Frankenstein figure is very rare in Japan, possibly having a count of less than a few pieces, but I'm not certain. The signatures are most discernible on the Wolfman, while Count Dracula has a faint signature on his back. The signature on Monster-kun is barely recognizable. Please refer to the images for confirmation regarding Frankenstein.

Collector Commentary

This vintage 1968 soft vinyl figure set from the iconic Fujiko Fujio series "Monster-kun" features a notably rare blue variant of Frankenstein, a unique collectible that reflects the early days of Japanese toy manufacturing. The TT mark and engravings elevate its provenance, hinting at a limited production run that is highly sought after by collectors of retro Japanese toys. The presence of faint signatures from the characters adds an additional layer of charm, while the excellent condition speaks to proper storage over the decades. With prices for similar items within the ¥2,000,000 to ¥4,000,000 range in the Japanese market, this piece exemplifies the rarity and nostalgia that define serious collectors' interests in classic anime merchandise.
