Vintage 1969 Fender Telecaster [Maple One Piece Neck] Electric Guitar

1 / 1

Description

This is a 1969 Fender Telecaster (purchased from GUITAR TRADERS). Due to downsizing and organizing my equipment, I am parting with it to find a new owner. Since purchase, it has only been played briefly and has been stored in its case. From the late 1950s, rosewood was used for the fingerboards, but in 1968, Fender introduced an option to switch to a "laminate maple" neck. By the late 1969, one-piece maple necks made a comeback, and this guitar is one of those models featuring a maple one-piece neck. The guitar has a blonde finish, with a natural yellowing from aging and some weather checking consistent with its age. I was captivated by its impressive atmosphere and presence that can't be replicated through artificial aging, and I was drawn to its claim of being a full original from the store I purchased it from (I've made no modifications since ownership). It plays beautifully, and the sound pressure from a tube amplifier is characteristic of the 60s vintage Telecaster. It's lightweight with a rich harmonic sound, clear mids and lows, and solid resonance. - No electrical issues. - Approximately 60% fret life remaining; neck is straight. Collector Commentary

This 1969 Fender Telecaster, with its rare one-piece maple neck and stunning blonde finish, exemplifies the craftsmanship that made Fender iconic during the late '60s. Collectors prize this model for its rich tonal quality and lightweight design, characteristic of the era's vintage sound. Given its original condition, minimal playtime, and notable historical context, it holds significant value in the Japanese market, where well-preserved instruments are highly sought after for their authenticity and heritage. The current bid reflects the growing appreciation for vintage guitars, especially those with unique features and unaltered parts from this golden age of rock music.
